As the 'heel' in the 'boot' of Italy, it would be easy to assume that the region has little or no attractions to draw travellers. This impression couldn't be more incorrect. If you're looking for skyscrapers, miles of glass and concrete, and bumper-to-bumper traffic, then you're certainly in the wrong place.
